Upload Formats

Tracklogs (.TRL)

The system can handle Tracklogs V3 files.

Include route instructions as waypoints, with the instruction as the waypoint Text Title or the Text Information.

Tracklogs only allows one trackline per file. Any route branches will be ignored.

Google Earth (.KMZ, .KML)

The system can handle both KML and KMZ files from Google Earth.

Include route instructions as placemarks, with the instruction either as the placemark Name or Description. Placemarks can be sorted once uploaded, but if you add the placemarks in order this will save time. Google Earth currently inserts new placemarks at the top of a folder, so they end up in reverse order. The upload page has a checkbox to allow the order to be reversed again on upload.

You can include as many polylines as you like in the file to describe the route.

You can use any folder structure, the system will find all placemarks and polylines wherever they are.

The format of Memory-Map .mmo files seems to be a closely-guarded secret, so we can't read them. Instead you can export your route overlays from Memory-Map in GPX format (choose GPS eXchange files from the "Save as type:" drop-down menu when you export the overlays).

GPS Exchange Format (.GPX)

The system can handle GPX files. More information about these soon...

Unsupported Formats

The system is currently unable to read these file formats:

If there is sufficient demand, and the required file format information is made available, these formats may be supported in future.

Alternatively, use one of the free GPS utility programs to translate between formats.
